The Sermon

Isaiah 40:10-14, 18, 28-31
Mark 10:17-27

Today's Truth:

"You Are Soul-Provoking—Awakening our Heart’s Loyalties” (Sermon Series: Encounters with Christ)

Even youths grow tired and weary,

and young men stumble and fall;

but those who hope in the Lord

will renew their strength.

Sermon - April 21, 2013 - Rev. Dr David Jordan-Irwin

The Sermon

Isaiah 55:1-3
John 6:1-15

Today's Truth:

"A King Like No Other” (Sermon Series: Encounters with Christ)

Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?

Sermon - April 07, 2013 - Rev. Dr David Jordan-Irwin

The Sermon

Colossians 3:1-2 (The Message)
Luke 24:1-12, 36-49

Today's Truth:

"Singled-Out” (Sermon Series: Encounters with Christ)

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Sermon - March 31, 2013 - Easter - Rev. Dr David Jordan-Irwin

The Sermon

Colossians 3:1-2 (The Message)
Luke 24:1-12, 36-49

Today's Truth:

Why Do You Look for the Living Among the Dead?

So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.

Sermon - March 17, 2013 - Rev. Dr David Jordan-Irwin

The Sermon

Matthew 6:5-8 (The Message)
Philippians 4:1-9

Today's Truth:

Peace That Passes All Understanding

Here’s what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.

Sermon - March 10, 2013 - Rev. Dr David Jordan-Irwin

The Sermon

Psalm 18:16-20
Philippians 3:7-16

Today's Truth:

I Press On

He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.
They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support.
He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.

Sermon - March 3, 2013 - Rev. Dr David Jordan-Irwin

The Sermon

Matthew 13:44-46
Philippians 3:1-11

Today's Truth:

The Surpassing Value of Knowing Christ

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.

Sermon - February 17, 2013 - Rev. Dr David Jordan-Irwin

The Sermon

Matthew 11:28-30
Philippians 2:12-18

Today's Truth:

Work Out Your Salvation

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Sermon - February 3, 2013 - Rev. Dr David Jordan-Irwin

The Sermon

Micah 6, 8
Philippians 2:1-5

Today's Truth:

In Humility, Value Others Above Yourself, Part 2

As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face;

when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.

Sermon - January 27, 2013 - Rev. Dr David Jordan-Irwin

The Sermon

Psalm 17:6-9, 15
Mark 10:45
Philippians 2:1-5

Today's Truth:

In Humility, Value Others Above Yourself

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Sermon - January 6, 2013 - Rev. Dr David Jordan-Irwin

The Sermon

Psalm 138
Philippians 1:1-11

Today's Truth:

He Who Began a Good Work in You

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
I will bow down toward your holy temple
and will praise your name
for your unfailing love and your faithfulness,
for you have so exalted your solemn decree
that it surpasses your fame.
When I called, you answered me;
you greatly emboldened me.
