We pride ourselves on creating a community of faith that extends beyond the walls of our building. Whether you feel called to to help others, or are facing your own trials and in need of a kind, supportive presence in your life, we are equipped to fill the need for Christian Caring.
The office of Deacon, as set forth in scripture, is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ. Responsibilities are primarily aimed toward ministry to those members who are in need, sick, friendless, or in distress. Deacons provide meals, rides, and comfort to those in need.
Monument Community Presbyterian Church is blessed to have trained Stephen Ministers who are ready to provide a one-to-one helping ministry to those in need. Stephen Ministry is a worldwide program designed to train and supervise lay people for a caring ministry within the church congregation as well as the community at large. If you are experiencing a difficult period in your life, Stephen Ministry may be able to support you. Stephen Ministry also sponsors seminars open to the congregation and the community.
If you have a prayer request, or desire to be part of the prayer ministry, Please Contact Shauna Bowlin at (719) 488-0923 or Email:
(Email prayer chain participants will pray for all requests).
The Shepherding Ministry works to develop a caring relationship with new members, those with particular needs, or anyone who requests a shepherd. Our shepherds encourage integration into the life of the church and foster feelings of connectedness with the church. Church members are specially trained to be in contact with 4-5 church members/families.
